Realtime

The four metrics at the top, the day chart with the comparison curve, the distribution cards, and the article ranking. What each block shows.

Updated on

Realtime is the screen for following the day. It shows how many people are on the site right now, how that number compares with what is expected for the hour, where readers come from, and which articles are drawing the audience. The screen has no subtitle, and the date range selector sits inside the chart, with the label Tempo real (realtime).

Metrics at the top

CardWhat it shows
Leitores online (readers online)Readers connected to the site
Tempo médio (average time)Average reading time
Matérias do dia (articles of the day)Articles published during the day
Recirculação (recirculation)Percentage of pageviews that originated from internal links

Each card has a ring on the right, filled in proportion to the value and colored green, orange, or red. The ring works as a traffic light against an internal reference.

Day chart

The chart has three elements. On the left, a large number, a thin bar, and a percentage show the current point relative to the day. In the center, the stacked area shows the actual value since the start of the day. The gray dotted line, which runs to the end of the axis, is the comparison curve: it plots the expected value for each hour, including the hours that have not happened yet. The axis runs from 1 a.m. to 11 p.m.

When the colored area falls below the dotted line, the site is performing below its usual level for that time of day. That comparison is the main use of the screen.

Distribution cards

Below the chart, four cards show how the audience is distributed. Each one has a help icon next to the title and pagination indicators, because there are more rows than fit in the card. The data labels are in English, as the screen displays them.

The meaning of each source is in Traffic source.

Ranking

The ranking takes up the lower part of the screen and has five tabs: Matérias (articles), Seções (sections), Autores (authors), Tags, and Outros (others). The search box accepts a section, an author, or a tag. To the right of the search box, the television icon opens TV Mode.

In the Matérias tab, the columns are Matéria (article), Leitores agora (readers now), Visualizações (pageviews), De onde veio (where it came from), and Tendência (trend). Each row shows the thumbnail, the title, the author, the age of the article, and the section label. De onde veio is a miniature bar chart, and Tendência is a trend line. The site's homepage appears as a row in the ranking, with the URL in place of the author. Selecting a row opens the article details.

When a metric does not appear

If the tag is installed and Leitores online stays at zero, check the Domínios permitidos (allowed domains) field, in Administration, Configurações gerais (general settings) tab. This and other cases are in Troubleshooting.
