Push campaigns
How to set up an automated push campaign: mechanism, schedule, content filters, ranking criterion, restrictions, content, and execution settings.
Updated on
An automated campaign is a rule that sends notifications without manual intervention. It is set up in the Campanhas automáticas (automated campaigns) tab of Smart Push, in a form divided into blocks. The first decision is the mechanism, because the following blocks depend on it.
Identification
The form header has the required Nome da campanha (campaign name) and Domínio de envio (sending domain) fields, and the Campanha ativa (campaign active) toggle.
Mechanism
| Option | Description on the screen | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Curadoria programada (scheduled curation) | Roda no horário, rankeia o acervo e envia a melhor matéria. (runs on schedule, ranks the archive, and sends the best article) | One notification per interval, with the article chosen by the ranking criterion |
| Gatilho em tempo real (real-time trigger) | Reativo: dispara no instante do evento. (reactive: fires the instant the event happens) | One notification in response to an event on the site |
Schedule
The Frequência de execução (run frequency) field sets the interval between runs, such as A cada 4 horas (every 4 hours). The screen states: "O intervalo é a própria frequência de envio." (the interval is the send frequency itself). Unlike the newsletter, which uses fixed times, push uses an interval.
Content filters
The Editorias (sections), Tags, and Autores (authors) filters narrow the archive under consideration. Janela temporal (time window) limits the search to articles published in the last few hours, and the Exige imagem de destaque (requires featured image) toggle discards articles without an image.
Ranking criterion
Ordenar o acervo por (sort the archive by) defines how the article is chosen among those that passed the filters; the default option is Volume (mais acessos) (volume, most visits). The Piso de qualidade (quality floor) toggle complements the criterion.
Audience segmentation
Segmentation is the same as in the manual send: Todos (all) or Segmentar (segment), with Região (region), Cidade (city), and Dispositivo e plataforma (device and platform). The screen states that segmentation by topic affinity is planned for the future and is not available yet.
Restrictions
The Anti-duplicação: nunca reenviar a mesma matéria (anti-duplication: never resend the same article) toggle prevents an article from being resent, for the period set in the selector next to it, such as Bloquear para sempre (block forever). The Janela de silêncio (Quiet Hours) (silence window) toggle defines an interval without sends. Anti-duplication acts on the article, not on the reader: this screen has no per-person send limit.
Content and preview
The Título (title) and Mensagem (message) fields have an IA (AI) button that generates the text. URL de destino (destination URL) and URL da imagem (opcional) (image URL, optional) complete the block. The available variables are {page_title}, {page_description}, {page_url}, and {page_image}, each between an opening and a closing brace. The preview next to the block shows the notification on Android and iOS.
Execution settings
The options are Enviar automaticamente (send automatically) and Requer aprovação humana (requires human approval). With the second, the campaign does not send when saved: it enters the Approvals queue and waits for the Aprovar (approve) action. The Cancelar (cancel) and Salvar campanha (save campaign) buttons sit in the footer.
