Traffic source
The meaning of the source labels, in English, that appear in Realtime, in the article details, in TV Mode, and in Explore, and what each reading indicates.
Updated on
The traffic source labels appear in English in four places in the dashboard: in the De onde vêm os leitores (where readers come from) card in Realtime, in the Origem de tráfego (traffic source) card in the article details, in the Origem de tráfego bars in TV Mode, and in the Canais de aquisição (acquisition channels) dimension in Explore. The names match the default channel groups of Google Analytics 4.
- Organic Search
- Unpaid search. The reader arrived through a search result.
- Direct
- Access without a referrer: a typed link, a bookmark, or a messaging app. On a recent article, a high Direct percentage usually indicates sharing through messages.
- Internal
- A link from another page on the same site, such as the homepage or a related article. It is the source that makes up recirculation. In TV Mode, the label appears translated as Interno.
- Organic Social
- A social network, without paid media.
- Referral
- A link published on another site.
- Unassigned
- Access that matches no classification rule, such as an incorrect campaign parameter or a referrer omitted by the browser. It is not a channel, but what was left unclassified.
How to use the readings
| Reading | What it indicates | Suggested action |
|---|---|---|
| Organic Search dominant on an older article | The article is being searched for again | Review dates and links. It is the signal of the Pulse Revival strategy. |
| High Direct in the first hour | The article is circulating through messages | Keep the article featured on the homepage and consider a push |
| Low Internal with high reading time | The reader finishes reading and leaves | Add related links at the end of the text. It is the signal of the Bridge strategy. |
| Unassigned growing | Links distributed without campaign parameters | Standardize the UTM parameters of your own channels |
